Women’s Nordic Takes 9th in 7.5K Skate at USCSA National Championships

BEND, Oregon - The University of Maine at Farmington women's nordic team kicked off the USCSA National Championships with a ninth place finish in today's 7.5K skate event. As a team, the Beavers' three skiers finished with a combined time of 1:15.22.

The Beavers were led by junior Ayla Bodach-Turner (East Montpelier, Vermont) who earned 20th overall in the highly competitive event. Bodach-Turner finished the race with a time of 22:45.7. Bodach-Turner amassed 17 points for the team with her finish.

Sophomore Cora Treiss (Berlin, N.H.) finished 40 seconds behind Bodach-Turner, posting a time of 23:25.2 to place 24th overall in the event. Treiss grabbed 21 points in the effort.

First-year Kelsey McCrum (Greenbush, Maine) totaled 47 points after placing 51st overall. McCrum finished the 7.5K race with a time of 29:11.0.

St. Olaf ran away with the overall gold medal, placing racers first thru fourth overall and a total of seven inside the top-12.

UP NEXT

The Beavers are back in action once again tomorrow, competing in the individual classic sprints. The event will begin with time trials starting at 12:30 PM EST.
