Women’s Nordic Competes at ECSC Divisionals

PAUL SMITHS, New York - For the second consecutive weekend, the University of Maine at Farmington women's nordic team headed to Paul Smiths, New York, this time the Beavers were competing in the ECSC Divisionals. The event was a two-day event, with the 15k classic taking place Saturday, and team sprints followed on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Beavers were led by sophomore Cora Treiss (Berlin, N.H.) who took home 17th place overall in the event. Treiss finished the 15k with a time of 59:55.62. First-year Kelsey McCrum raced to a time of 1:20:37.56 on her way to a 48th place finish. There were a total of 63 competitors in the event. The Beavers were without Ayla Bodach-Turner (East Montpelier, Vermont) on Saturday.

On Sunday, Bodach-Turner returned for Farmington, helping the Beavers capture an eighth place finish in the team sprint. A three-person race, Bodach-Turner, Treiss, and McCrum combined for a total time of 41:49.40.

The Beavers will be back in action this weekend in the USCSA Regionals in Holderness, New Hampshire. A chance to qualify for the USCSA National Championship is on the line this weekend.
