Dick Meader '68
On Sunday, October 16, 2022, Farmington legend Dick Meader passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Coach Meader is a proud alumnus of the University of Maine at Farmington, graduating in 1968. He returned to UMF in the fall of 1993 to serve as our men's basketball coach, baseball coach, and instructor in the coaching minor for 27 years until his retirement in 2020.Â

A celebration of life to honor the life of Coach Meader will take place on
November 6, 2022, in Dearborn Gymnasium at 2 pm with doors opening at 1 pm. A reception will follow immediately after the celebration in the Olsen Student Center.

DROP-OFF and PARKING: There is construction on High Street in front of Dearborn Gymnasium. We are anticipating a large crowd so
driving through the construction is allowed and is encouraged to drop off carloads at the south entrance of Dearborn. The parking lots and sidewalks will have staff to help direct the flow of traffic. We encourage parking in the UMF marked parking lots prior to parking in the business parking lots. We will also provide a shuttle service for individuals after they park their vehicles. If all of the marked lots become filled, there is additional parking at the Park and Ride next to Walgreen's at 317 Main Street.Â
Lincoln and Thomas Auditorium will be used as an overflow area for viewing the live stream. Thomas Auditorium is located to adjacent to Dearborn Gymnasium. Lincoln Auditorium is located in Roberts Learning Center at 186 High Street.
