Biography

Athletic achievements: At MDI, McKay, a team captain and four-year letterwinner, was All-Penobscot Valley Conference First Team in 2010 and All-PVC Second Team in 2009. She was the team's leading scorer with nine goals in seven games after switching from defense to midfield. ... Played club for Black Bears United for two years and Maine Terriers Premier Soccer Club for two years. ... She also played varsity softball all four years at MDI, making the All-PVC Second Team as a junior pitcher and co-captaining the team as a senior.
Academic achievements: At MDI, McKay was invited to the PVC Scholar Dinner, made the honor roll four semesters and high honors three semesters and took honors biology and geometry.
Hobbies: Soccer, softball, reading.
Community service activities: Volunteered for a teaching/internship for three months in sixth grade math, helped out at Acadian Little League Baseball Invitational Tournament and volunteered at MDI Marathon.
Why UMF? I liked the small school feel, strong athletic programs and the great education program. The size of school is right for me. I come from a smaller high school and I like the small school feel. I also like how I am still close to home, but far enough to be independent.
