FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington senior defender Bayley Casavant (Corinth, Maine) has been named the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CMCFHC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after a strong performance on both ends of the field for the Beavers.
The Beavers played two games last week, and Casavant made a big impact in each. In Farmington's 3-0 setback in their home opener on Monday against Saint Joseph's College, she recorded a defensive save—her second of the season.
Casavant also played a key role offensively on Thursday in a road matchup against Regis College. Serving as the inserter on most of the Beavers' penalty corners this season, she helped generate a pair of goals in that role against the Pride. Casavant was credited with an assist on Zoey Pennell's (Saco, Maine) first-period goal, then gave the Beavers the lead late in the second period by firing home a loose ball for her third goal of the season.
Casavant has had a phenomenal 2025 campaign for the Beavers. Through seven games, she has started every contest, registering three goals, one assist, and two defensive saves, while showcasing her versatility by playing multiple positions for a young Farmington squad.
