Athletic Highlights and Milestones

  • The Men's Cross Country Team was crowned the North Atlantic Conference Champion for the second consecutive season, dominating the field. The top-five Beavers finished with a combined time of 2:15:06 for an average time of 27:01. In total Farmington placed six runners inside the top-ten.
  • For the second straight season Caelan Billings (Sullivan, Maine) earned the top spot on the podium, winning the Boardercross National Championship.
  • First-year Natalee McKenzie (Kingfield, Maine) earned a pair of National Titles, placing first in both the Rail Jam and Slopestyle events at the 2025 USCSA National Championship.
  • Both the Men's and Women's Track & Field teams each won the North Atlantic Conference Championship, marking the first title for each team in program history. 
  • Women's Soccer junior goalkeeper Paige Gonya became the first Farmington netminder to be named to the NAC All-Conference Team since Callie Hammer '22 did so in 2019.
  • The Men's Soccer Team took down Husson University on the road on October 4th, topping the Eagles for the first time since a 2021 NAC Semifinal contest in Bangor.
  • Senior Men's Basketball sharpshooter Simon Chadbourne (Portland, Maine) put together a storybook senior season. Chadbourne became the Beavers' 35th member in the 1,000 point scoring club when he drilled a three in the opening minutes of a NAC contest on January 12th on the road against VTSU Lyndon. He continued his phenomenal season by topping the single-season record for threes on February 6th at home against Maine Maritime Academy. He broke the record that was set by himself a season ago, which was 89 three-pointers. He finished the 2024-25 season with 100 three-pointers made. He also finished the season ranked 2nd in the country in three pointers made per game (3.85).
  • The Women's Basketball team made their return to the NAC playoffs for the first time since the 2021-22 season. The Beavers faced off against Husson in the NAC Quarterfinals, falling to the Eagles, 77-64.
  • The UMF Snowsports Teams each qualified for the 2025 USCSA National Championship that took place at Mount Bachelor in Bend, Oregon. This marks the third consecutive season that all active UMF Snowsports programs qualified for the USCSA National Championship.
  • Senior first baseman for the Baseball Team, Ryan Sargent (Windham, Maine), continued to re-write the UMF Baseball Record Book. The 2nd Team All-State infielder, finished his career as the all-time leader in games played (156), hits (171), RBI (100), and doubles (38), while finishing 2nd all-time in home runs (19).
  • Junior Jameson Bloch (Attleboro, Mass.) and sophomore Ike Wrigley (Farmington, Maine) each finished the season with 11 doubles, breaking the previous record of 10 set by Josh Garneau back in 2009.
  • The Farmington baseball team snapped a 21-game losing streak against Husson University by topping the Eagles in game one of a doubleheader on May 4th. The last time Farmington beat Husson was in 2019.
  • The Farmington Women's Indoor Track & Field Team had three athletes qualify for the New England Regional Championships as Carrie Burr, Erica Johnson, and Lina Martinez Nocito each qualified and competed.
  • The Farmington Men's Indoor Track & Field Team had six athletes qualify for the New England Championships; Owen Booker, Logan Burns, Justin Castaldo, Alex Crews, Nate Trussell, Ben Vachon.
  • The Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team had three athletes qualify for the New England Championships; Carrie Burr, Anna MacDonald, and Eve Poteet. 
  • The Men's Outdoor Track & Field Team had six athletes qualify for the New England Championships; Owen Booker, Justin Castaldo, Alex Crews, Andrew LaFlamme, Nate Trussell, and Ben Vachon.
  • Senior Abby Trefsger (South Portland, Maine) and junior Ruby McMinis (Wells, Maine) crossed the 100-point mark, becoming the 7th and 8th athletes in Women's Lacrosse program history to cross that mark.
  • Trefsger became the Women's Lacrosse all-time leader in draw controls (168), topping Rhi Jackson '17 on April 25th against Thomas College.
  • Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) was named a finalist for the North Atlantic Conference Woman of the Year.
  • Will Harriman (Biddeford, Maine) was named a finalist for the North Atlantic Conference Man of the Year.
