BEND, Oregon - The University of Maine at Farmington battled through persistent snow during the second run on Wednesday's giant slalom event at the USCSA National Championship at Mt. Bachelor to place 14th overall.

After the first run, the Beavers appeared to be in great shape. Farmington was led by senior Jacob Roy (Frenchville, Maine) who finished his run with a time of 1:03.42 and was sitting in 11th place. Roy, along with Sam Roy (Frenchville, Maine), and Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine) each fell in their second run and registered DNFs.

The Beavers were not the only ones who struggled with the course elements. In total, there were 142 skiers who were on the start sheet, 74 of those skier registered DNFs with only 66 skiers placing in the event.

For Farmington junior Lake Lindelof (Belfast, Maine) and senior Colgan O'Keefe (Westchester, N.Y.) were the two who finished both runs. Lindelof placed 25th overall in the grueling event. In total, Lindelof finished his two runs with a time of 2:13.46. Lindelof finished his first run with a time of 1:06.25 and his second run with a time of 1:07.21.

O'Keefe had a pair of strong, nearly identical runs. O'Keefe finished his first run in 1:08.82 before posting a time of 1:08.46 in his second run. He finished with a cumulative time of 2:17.28 in his 36th place effort.

Forced to take a ghost time for their third skier, the Beavers posted a team time of 7:42.42 in their 14th place effort.

Sam Roy sat in 35th place after his first run, finishing it with a time of 1:06.80. Dolan finished his run in 1:07.73 seconds and say in 44th place.

Jules Clerice of Rocky Mountain College took home first place, posting a total time of 2:03.85. Rocky Mountain also earned the top-spot as a team, beating out Babson by over two seconds with a three-skier time of 6:15.17.
