Reynolds Receives MMBCWA Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball standout Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) has been named the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) Player of the Week the organization announced on Tuesday evening.

In the lone game the Beavers played a week ago, Reynolds was flawless, shooting 7-for-11 from the floor and connecting on 2-of-5 from beyond the arc en route to an 18-point performance to help the Beavers to a 85-78 victory over the reigning GNAC Champion, Saint Joseph's College of Maine. Reynolds also posted a game-high 14 rebounds in the contest, doing work on both ends of the court.

Reynolds has been a consistent force on the court through seven games this season, averaging 13.4 points per game on 42.1% shooting from the field and adding 11.9 rebounds per game. Reynolds entered the week as the ninth leading rebounder in the country, having grabbed 83 rebounds so far this season. Reynolds has also compiled five double-doubles, tied for the second highest total in the nation.

Reynolds joins teammate Zach McLaughlin (Hampden, Maine) as recipients of the MMBCWA Player of the Week honor this season.

Farmington returns to action on Friday evening against Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference action at 5:30 PM in Waterville, Maine.
