MMBCWA Names Reynolds Co-Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Maine - Late Tuesday evening, the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) announced that University of Maine at Farmington junior forward Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) was named the Co-Player of the Week for the week that ended on Sunday, December 7th.

For Reynolds, the honor marks the second consecutive week that the organization recognized him as he was named the Player of the Week for the Week ending November 30th, holding the honor all by himself. This week, Reynolds shares the Player of the Week honor with Saint Joseph's College of Maine senior forward Wani Donato.

Reynolds has been on an incredible run and last week was no different. Farmington played in a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contests a week ago, both victories on the road to remain unbeaten in conference action. Across the two wins, Reynolds averaged 18.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per game, doing all he could on both ends of the floor.

On Friday evening, Reynolds finished with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor that included an efficient 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc to go along with a game-high 16 rebounds. Reynolds hit back-to-back threes in overtime during the Beavers' game-clinching run, topping Thomas College, 99-98.

On Saturday afternoon, Reynolds finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds while shooting 6-of-9 from the floor in Farmington's 89-71 victory over Lesley University. The double-double for Reynolds marked his fifth straight and seventh overall for the season.

Through nine games this season, Reynolds is averaging a double-double, scoring 14.4 points and grabbing 12.9 rebounds a night. In total, Reynolds has grabbed 116 rebounds, 31 of which are on the offensive end of the floor. In relation to the rest of the country, Reynolds is currently the leading rebounder in the country on a per game average of, second in total rebounds, and tied for third in double-doubles.
