Beavers Score Three Straight 2nd Half Goals to Topple Fisher

FARMINGTON, Maine – After a scoreless first half of play, the University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer offense broke out in a big way in the second half, scoring three goals to pull away with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Fisher College on Sunday afternoon at Leib Field.

After the break, the Beavers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Miah Coffin (Otis, Maine) and Makenzie Rushlow (Corinth, Maine) were credited with assists on the play.

Coffin doubled the Beaver lead just four minutes later. Rita Benoit (Hallowell, Maine) lofted an outswinging corner kick into the box that deflected off several bodies before falling to Coffin, who calmly placed a shot into the lower corner of the net for her third goal of the season.

Farmington put the game away in the 82nd minute when senior midfielder Grace Dwyer (Manchester, Maine) sniped the upper right corner from about 35 yards out. The goal was Dwyer's sixth of the season.
