Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – University of Maine at Farmington field hockey was narrowly beaten on Sunday in a non-conference game played at Colby-Sawyer. The Chargers scored six minutes into overtime to come away with the victory in the evenly played contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colby-Sawyer scored two first-half goals to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
- The Beavers were outshot 9 -3 in the first half.
- Junior Allie Jones scored the first goal and senior Jordan Teixeira scored her first of two goals for the Chargers. Teixeira's coming on a penalty corner as time expired in the first half allowing play to continue.
- UMF responded in the second half outshooting Colby-Sawyer 7-1
- Sophomore Kasey Talarico scored unassisted and freshman Chloe Horn both scored to even the game at two and send it into overtime.
- Both teams exchanged scoring opportunities to open overtime before Teixeira's game-winner.
